The layout you know

WinMerge for Mac
WinMerge is a popular free compare tool, but it only runs on Windows. Mergeloom is a free Mac app that does the same kind of work, built natively for macOS.
Version 1.0.0 · macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Free under the MIT license
Why Mergeloom
Two panes side by side, changes highlighted down to the word, copy buttons in the middle, and a map of every difference at the edge.
Merge against a common base, step through conflicts, and save the result. It works for whole folders too.
Compare folder trees, filter what you see, then update or mirror one side. A preview shows every change before anything is copied.
Compare with HEAD, see staged and unstaged changes, or compare any two branches. It also works as git difftool and mergetool.
No price, no trial and no account. Mergeloom is free under the MIT license.
No Wine and no virtual machine. Mergeloom is written in Swift for macOS, with dark mode and Mac keyboard shortcuts.
